What does BookJoy offer ?

BookJoy is a library in Bangalore that offers both in-store and online memberships. Online members get books delivered to their doorstep, while in-store members can visit the library and pick the books they want.

What types of memberships are available ?

BookJoy offers two types of memberships: online and in-store. Only online memberships include delivery. Both membership types have Basic and Premium plans to suit your reading needs.

How does it work ?

Customers purchase a membership by paying a one-time registration fee and a refundable security deposit. Then, they pay a monthly membership fee to rent books. Once you've read the books, you can exchange them for a new set. There is no time limit or limit on the number of exchanges.

How can I renew my membership every month ? 

We will send you a reminder and an invoice every month on the same day you purchased the membership. You can pay the fees , using that link, Once paid, you can rent the books from the website. In-store members can also renew their memberships during their visit.

How many books can I order at once ?

You can borrow as many books as allowed by your plan. For online members , we recommend ordering all books together to use the free delivery and pickup offered once a month.

Do I need to return all the books after one month ?

No, there is no deadline to return books. You can keep them as long as needed and swap only the books you've finished reading.

How can I swap the books I ordered ?

With online memberships, you get one free exchange per renewal. You can choose new books and we’ll deliver them, while picking up the books you've finished.

What if I haven’t finished a book ?

If you haven't finished a book, you can return only the books you've finished, and keep the ones you’re still reading. You’ll get the remaining books based on your plan's limit.

Can I get more books if I finish them before the cycle ends ?

Yes, in-store members can always exchange the books during their visits. Online members can purchase extra exchanges at a small cost to get more books before your next renewal.

Are there any extra charges besides the membership fee ?

No, you only need to pay the membership fee. For online members, the membership fee includes one free delivery and pickup. If you need more exchanges during the month, you can buy additional exchanges. If you're doing this often, we recommend upgrading your plan to save costs.

How do I upgrade my plan ?

Please contact us to upgrade your plan.

How can I pause my subscription for a few months ?

To pause your subscription, go to the "Membership" page in your account and select "Pause." We will arrange a pickup for the books you have. Once the books are returned, you won’t need to pay the membership fee until you resume your subscription.

How can I resume my subscription ?

To resume your membership, go to the "Membership" page in your account and click "Resume." You’ll receive an invoice for the renewal. Once you pay the membership fee, you can continue renting books.

How can I close/ cancel my subscription ?

We’ll be sad to see you go! If you want to cancel your subscription, go to the "Membership" page in your account. Once your books are picked up, we’ll refund your security deposit within 7 working days.

What should I do if a book gets damaged or lost ?

We request you to keep the books safe and intact . But if you lose a book, call us. We will either adjust the cost from your security deposit or ask you to pay any additional cost for the lost book.

What happens if I fail to renew my membership?

Membership must be renewed every month. We will send reminders and invoices to help you pay on time. If you miss the payment, a late fee will be deducted from your security deposit. If you continue to miss payments, your membership may be canceled.
